What is Physical Therapy?

Physical Therapy is a comprehensive treatment approach to various musculoskeletal dysfunctions. A physical therapist will evaluate you specific problem and formulate a treatment plan, which will include, exercises, modalities, manual techniques and a home exercise program.

How do I schedule an appointment for physical therapy?

Scheduling an appointment is as easy as calling our office at (301) 853-0093 and requesting an appointment. Our friendly staff will schedule an appointment that fits your needs. If we are not available when you call, just leave a message and we will return your call by the end of the business day.

How long will it take to get an appointment?

Our policy is to schedule an appointment for all patients within 24 hours. This appointment will be scheduled according to your needs and availability. We will always offer you an appointment within 48 hours.

Do you take my insurance?

If you look at our insurance participation page, you will see which insurance companies we participate with. We accept most major insurance carriers and are constantly updating our participation list. Please call our office and speak to a staff member regarding your specific insurance carrier.

Do I need a referral?

Your insurance carrier will determine weather you need a referral. Please call our office to see if your insurance carrier requires a referral.

What should I bring with me for my first appointment?

You should bring:

  1. Your referral / prescription
  2. Your insurance card
  3. Identification
  4. Your co-payment
What should I wear for my appointment?

It is recommended that you were loose fitting comfortable attire. If you are being seen for a hip, knee, ankle or foot problem, you should were shorts (at least for your first appointment). Women should were some type of halter-top or sports bra for neck or shoulder problems (at least for your first appointment). Medical gowns are available if needed.

What will happen during my first visit?

You will be given a comprehensive musculoskeletal evaluation by a licensed physical therapist. You physical therapist will discuss treatment goals and the plan of care. Some of your treatment may be initiated during the first visit. You should allocate 90 minutes for you first visit.
