Ian’s interest in physical therapy began when he was fairly young. Ian experienced, up close, the benefits of physical therapy when a car accident severely injured his stepfather. Physical therapy was critical in his stepfather’s recovery. Throughout this process, Ian was able to observe the many different practice settings where physical therapy takes place. Ian’s stepfather always spoke very highly of his physical therapists and was eventually able to make a full recovery. This made a lasting impression and when he neared the completion of high school, Ian decided to pursue physical therapy as a career.
Ian was accepted and enrolled in the entry-level physical therapy program at Saint Francis University (Loretto, PA). He graduated with his master's degree in 2002 and moved to Maryland, where he began to practice. Ian learned in his early career that manual therapy was particularly rewarding, and he pursued an advanced manual therapy certification through the Institute of Physical Art (Steamboat Springs, CO). Ian earned his Certified Manual Functional Therapist (CFMT) certification in 2009. Ian began managing the clinics where he worked in 2004 and earned recognition and awards for the performance of his clinics.
In his time away from work, Ian enjoys golfing and running. He has participated in many runs and races, including the Baltimore Half Marathon. He is a fan of Penn State University football, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Philadelphia Phillies. He is married, and he and his wife have a young daughter.
